Reason #6

Reasone #6 of why you should get your cleanings;
Know You're Doing it Right, Maintain Your Oral Health.
Our mouth plays a big role in your body. You do one of the most important things in life with your mouth; which is eat and drink, not only that but you smile, kiss and so on too. As I've mentioned before if you have a diseased mouth, you start to have bad breath all the time, your taste changes drastically causing you not to enjoy eating anymore. When things like these start to happen you start to have a low self esteem and become insecure of your mouth.
A diseased mouth is caused by not eating healthy, not getting your regular cleanings, drugs, not brushing your teeth as many times as you should. These cause your mouth to have bacteria and/ or infection build up. Since your mouth is connected to nerves and blood system just like any other part in your body, when you drink or eat, all that bacteria and infection gets swallowed into your stomach and blood system which causes twice the problem in the future.
We want you to know all these things because we want all of our patients to have a great oral health, healthy body and a healthy long life.

Reason #5 of Why you should get your dental cleanings.

#5-Detect dental problems early.
Many people in the world feel that their teeth & gums are not a top priority and are not a big deal. Believe it or not they are a very important essence of your body. You speak, smile, eat, drink, and so on with it. When you don't mantain your oral health, you have bad breath, bad taste and recession on your gums.
When we detect a cavity, it may cost you a hundred or so to fix the cavity. When you think it's not a big deal and just leave it alone because either you think it's too pricey or you don't feel like nothing needs to be done the cavity will proceed to grow out of anything. We want you to be aware that any issue in your mouth will get worse not better if not taken care of in time. Over time cavity grows bigger and deeper attacking your tooth's nerve causing bacteria and infection to grow, at that point instead of costing one hundred dollars, it costs over one thousand dollars to fix it.
We want you to keep all your teeth because once you loose your natural teeth, it is not the same to have artificial teeth.
We always advice our patients to come in for their regular check ups because we want to make sure everything is taken care of and we can do the best we can to prevent any problems to start or grow in your mouth. That's why we're here, the super hero for your teeth and gums:)

Why you should get your teeth cleaned. Reason #4

Reason #4= Preserve Your Smile:)
Your smile can determine your overall hygiene. As in the previous blogs, when you don't get your cleanings as often as you should it can cause serious conditions. In some cases conditions develop more quickly while in other cases it can take many years to develop. We want you to mantain your teeth and gums healthy. We don't want you to loose your teeth or bone or have any defect caused by gingivitis(gum disease). Your smile can last for a really long time if you take care of it properly. Dentistry can be costly but it is worth it because your mouth is the key to your overall health. Think about it you drink, talk, smile, eat, kiss, ect with your mouth, now imagine having a diseased mouth, you won't be able to enjoy none of those anymore due to bad odor, bad taste, and so on.
Let's prevent all this and have you come in for your cleaning and a step closer to a long lasting smile.

Smile Makeover August 2011

Smile makeover.

Santos Nunez

Santos was born and raised in El Salvador. As a young boy he enjoyed doing activities with his friends, especially playing soccer. As a side job he would work at a bakery shop. Life in El Salvador was not what he expected as an adult; so he came to the United States in 1981 to fulfill his American dream. He started off by working in a computer shop. Today he is a janitor for buildings, and is married with two daughters.

As a young boy he never took importance of his teeth. He felt his teeth weren’t a priority and is not an important matter when you only have so much money to budget for. His teeth today has impacted him when he started working for buildings, he is always around people and talking to them. It brings down his self esteem and confidence since he always feels people stare at his teeth not him. He grew to realize how important his teeth can determine someone. He has tried doing some treatment before but never had enough money to complete any of it, due to his responsibilities as a head household married man.

After reviewing his case, we felt he was the right one and it would really benefit him in many ways. Upon telling him he was chosen to be a part of our smile makeover, he jumped with excitement. He couldn’t believe his dream smile was going to come true.

He feels the smile makeover is going to change his life and how he feels. He is going to regain confidence and won’t be afraid to smile, talk or be around anybody anymore. Now he won’t be embarrassed rather prideful of his brand new teeth. He said he would feel embarrassed to even talk but now with his smile makeover, he is going to show off his smile to the whole wide world!

Congratulations Santos from LA Dental Staff!

Reason #3, Why you should get your teeth cleaning regurlarly.

3. Goes Beyond Your Teeth, helps maintain good health.

Apart from your teeth being connected to your gums and mouth. Your teeth have a pulp that connects to little veins that run through your oral mouth and just like other parts of our body it is connected to main veins and blood.
Let me give you an example.. When you have an open wound and don't take care of it, there are chances it may get infected, if it gets infected and you don't take care of it, that infection will start to grow and get into your blood system and make a worser problem. Believe it or not, something small can become big.
It's the same thing as if there was an infection in one of your teeth.
When you have gingivitis, infection or what not, it causes your taste buds to change. It changes the way the food taste. Which means that you can't enjoy eating like you used to.
Think about it, when your mouth is not at it's best condition, you can't enjoy eating, drinking, kissing, ect.
We want you to enjoy everything and not have an issue. That's why we want you to maintain a good oral health.

Reason #2

#2 Help Fight Gum Disease.

Gum Disease is one of the most common conditions in the world. When you come in for your regular hygiene appointments, dentist/hygienist use instruments and medication that help scrape up any plaque and/or tartar build up that your brush or teeth can not take off on it's own. When you don't go to your dental appointments the plaque(bacteria) starts feeding off sugar, food, anything that may get stuck in between your teeth. Your gum starts to get redish and become puffy which gives bacteria easier access to get under your gums. As time proceeds that plaque turns into tartar, hard particles, that become tougher to remove. Over time this tartar starts to eat up your gum and bone, which is the reason why people get recession(tooth looks longer) and bone loss. All this symptoms causes you to have loose teeth and eventually your teeth will start falling off on their own.
That is another reason why we emphazise our patients to come in for their cleanings. We want to prevent you from dealing with conditions like these. It lowers your self esteem and is 10 times more costly to restore your smile at that point.

Stay in tune for the 3rd reason..
